The proverbial "kalyāṇa aṣṭapadī" refers to the 22nd song of Jayadeva's work, with the starting words, "rādhā vadana vilōkana vikasita." This particular song illustrates the tenet of advaita vēdānta - in particular - the union of jīvātmā and paramātmā and has become the foundational basis for kalyāṇa utsavaṁ-s being included as the integral component of the in the saṁpradāya bhajana paddhati.
Other composers have also composed works around the same theme, some namely the gītasundaram of sadāśiva dīkṣita,śivagītamālā of HH candrasēkharēndra sarasvati, and the rāmāṣṭapadī of śrī rāmakavi
TMK, Smt. MSS has not rendered this particular song in particular -she however has rendered priyē cāruśīlē.
