I admire the beautiful phrase 'vimAnIkritha chitramayUra'
'AvimAnam vimAnam kri(u)tam vimAnIkrtam'-that which was not a vimAnam(vAhanam) was made one. This is called 'cvI prayOgam' in Sanskrit and I really like this usage by the great composer.
Reg. the word 'haThashUra'- I feel it refers to the slaying of ShUapadma in particular and not asurAs in general.
If the reference were to the asurAs, the word would have been 'haThAsura' and not 'haThashUra'
'Ashrta kAmita phaladAyaka'-One who grants the desires of those who take refuge under One(HIM)

Definitely the guitar rendition of this song was awesome - especially the alapana...if anyone is interested in hearing the violin version of this, its on You-Tube...I couldn't get the name of the violinist though.
Thanks for sharing the sahityam for the song. Does anyone have the notation for this song? I frequent Sivakumar Kalyanaraman's site for lyrics... but couldn't find this song... this would be the first time I haven't found notations for a song on his site.

I think there is a chittaswaram alsoLakshman wrote:karimukha varadA. rAgA: nATa. Adi tALA.

durita dukkha bhaya tApa samhAra haritA mOdaka Amra phala priya
Is it 'gIta gnAnata' or 'gIta gnAnada'
I feel it should be 'gnAnada'-giver of knowledge.
Can some one clarify?
