v.sankaranarayanan

Post by Ramsu »

A small boy who was often spotted in the concert scene those days recording concerts in his father's sabha and as a performing artist, this young man has taken different routes and is seen again now.

He is the son of Mr. NV Subramanian - a name that is fondly remembered by many musicians and yesteryear rasikas . He has pioneered many innovative themes and concerts.

I used to listen to Sankaranarayanan quite a lot when he was in his late teens. He was considered an upcoming star that time.Possibly with higher education and a demanding job, his career paths must have diversified. Although he was spotted singing in some sabhas periodically, the number of performances dropped considerably and I hardly listened to him in the interim period.

Oflate his name is heard /seen quite a lot in many places with a seemingly busy concert schedule. The most recent that i attended is the sivarathiri programs organized at the rathnagirishwarar temple. This concert was definitely well done and the connection between the audience and the artist was apparent. He must be in his early thirties now... if only he works on the consistency and delivers the same quality in all his concerts, he will very soon reach the top.

Thanks CarnaticCalifornia.

Could you please consistently use Shankaranarayanan instead of Shankar Narayanan.

We realized there are a few different ways he is referred to online :) So we clarified with the artist himself, on how he prefers to be referred. And hence we used "V Shankaranarayanan".
