Sangeetha Kalanidhi and Padmabhushan R. K. Srikantan was conferred the Sangeetha Sagara award by the Carnatic Music Association of North America [CMANA] on April 28, 2012, at a function in Edison, NJ. The awards ceremony was well attended, including many of his students and music admirers. Dr. M. G. .Prasad gave a brief speech pointing out the highlights of an extraordinarily creative life. At 92, Srikantan is living the life of a nadopasaka, immersed in musical medications, mentoring, with a busy concert life. May Saraswathi give him many more years of creativity!
