Brinda Manickavasagam

Post by rajeshnat »

Brinda Manickavasagam has learnt from many gurus . Now she is anchoring with Suguna varadachari. In my humble opinion, she is exceptionally good in presenting rare krithis and ragas . Her grip in layam is strong and with that raga bhavam gets more enhanced . Her enunciation especially thamizh is very noteworthy. She studied engineering went to US and did her MS and she has come back to chennai to pursue her musical passion. Best wishes to brinda.

I have heard one concert of Brinda thanks to Parivadini, was very good. I've posted the song list in the review section. Very talented. She is going to get better no doubt learning from Maha Vidhushi SV! Looking forward to hearing more concerts.

For some time now, she has been Smt Suguna's student. For some time she has appeared on stage as one of her guru's supporting artists. As I understand it, both of the young ladies who regularly support Suguna moved, with their families, to Chennai entirely for the sake of music.

Brinda has a beautiful voice, but, above and beyond that is the X factor in this music: the feeling. This she conveys in copious quantity.

Out of season, I attend most of her concerts. This December was so successful for her that I missed more than I saw. Long may her success grow and continue: she deserves it.

(and very best wishes for her married life, which begins next week.)

Brinda's review in THe Hindu dated Dec 15th,2017. Very impressive and liked her to quickly get a small RTP in anandabhairavi despite a 2 hour concert. Few years back she headed to do her Post Graduation in US , now it looks she is back to Madras and pursue her music (my best guess). Best wishes to young brinda.

Via Dubhai, if I remember correctly. Her family returned to Chennai for the sake of her music. It has been a few years now. She is now married and resides in Bangalore, but I don't think this is going to dim her dedication to music.

Most will know this, as they will have seen her, along with Aishwarya Shankar, supporting their guru on stage... her teacher is Suguna Varadachari.

She's a musical miracle.

Brinda Manickavasagam interview in pepper tv. Brinda has an extraordinary flair to pickup new compositions . Her appetite for thamizh songs also is very high. Nice interview where she talks about her early days in Dubai, chennai, studies in US and then back to chennai. A very talented thinking musician giving a great interview.
