Delhi Sunderrajan is currently based at the U.S. I heard that he is having problem with playing violin and has switched over to vocal music In May 1983 he had his arangetram at Delhi accompanying ProfT.N.Krishnan and he played a vivid Malayamarutham raga alapana. He is indeed a top notch accompanying violinist of the current generation. i hope he is able to overcome his problem and play as in the past. I had heard his inaugral concert. Ragjay

Hi all,
He is based very much in Chennai, though he spnds quite an amount of time in LA on teaching assignments every year.
He has been giving both vocal and violin concerts during the season (violin outnumbering vocal !).
the ones coming up are on 8th,9th,10th , all for OST. So looks like he is back for good !
The website is a very old one, which hasn't been updated in 4 yrs for now !

I am very happy to see this artiste being discussed here. I have seen him since our mutual childhood and I was one of the many who saw and vividly remember the malayamarutham he played in 1983. He accompanied TNK sir totally at the last minute.
He spends significant time in the LA/Irvine area teaching. One of his students Arun Ramamurthi is a very good violinist and another disciple Ramakrishnan Murthy is a very talented 17 year old vocalist.
The scene does miss Sunder and like all of you I hope this season is the beginning of a comeback violinwise.
Here is a link to some of his vocal music.
