Actually, I should say my maternal grand father is related to Mali.
My Great grand mother had the good fortune of listening to Mali while he practiced as a child as they lived in the same big house. She passed on the knowledge to my mother and her sisters. She lived for 96 yrs and I remember her singing sItApatE all the time eventhough her memory failed in other aspects- maybe a mAli's favorite?

There is this standing joke among my cousins that none of us inherited the genius that Mali was but craziness yes (mostly aimed at me-

).
For now I am a stand alone dabbler

Yes Bala and Brinda/Mukta were cousins. Wheras the Bala was the daughter of Jayammal, Brinda and Muktha were the daughters of Kamakshi.

Some of the dates though have typos. Like for example Rajalakshmi was born in 1885 whereas the chart shows 1985.
T Ranganathan 's year of birth is 1925 , but wrongly shown as 1825.

Abhiramasundari , sister of Brinda and Muktha died in 1974 (i think) but the date is erroneously shown as 1924.

As far as I know, R K Sriramkumar is the grandson for Sri .R K Venkatrama Sastri who was the elder brother of Sri R K Srikantan.

If we should start getting picky, I guess the correct heading would be 'Family members who are/were both performing artists..'. Couples would only mean the married kind!

no doubt genes are significant in music. it runs and even gallops in some families, but judging from some peoples performances it some times skips a generation
