Hi,

I'm looking for good Charukeshi renditions from Hindustani musicians, either instrumental or vocal. Can someone post them if they have them? If you'd prefer not posting them here, my email address is sripathi dot raj at gmail dot com.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sripathi

Sripathi..
Finding a non commercial rendering of charukesi is a VERY VERY remote possibility.
Even in the Commercial domain, I have come across only 5 renderings:
By Amir Khan , Malini Rajurkar , Prabhudev Sardar,Misra Brothers and Nikhil Bannerji.(and may be Shivkumar Sharma -but I dont track his Music anymore)
the first four should be available in any decent store with Hindusthani classics.

Online, you could try purchasing the duet of Ravikiran/Gaurav Mazumdar.-Music Today-
http://www.music-today.com/inside1.phtm ... rod_id=373

It is a classic.
I have just put a two minute sample to help you decide.(Wish all those sites put up such samples , in their ads)

Hope this is Ok with the administration-Otherwise this link can be removed.

Thanks Coolkarniji. I listened to the Ravikiran/Majumdar piece on musicindiaonline. But I'm not a big fan of JugalBandhis. I'll try to get Nikhil Banerji's rendition when I go to India in Feb.

I have been rummaging around to find a track , I thought I had lost. Thanks to you , I have salvaged it.
The first 3 minutes of this rendering by angamali jose -on dilruba-is simply mind blowing

I am at peace even with my sworn enemies when such music is being played around me...

In one of the new labels that were being played at the discount sale at sankara hall in chennai , OS aruns charukesi stopped me in my tracks for a full two minutes. He was stuck into the groove so mesmerisingly , only to wander later into some vague bhajan territory - some song on hanuma .... but those two minutes were heavenly.
Charukesi and The Hindusthani mode of evoking feelings ....

I have never been able to make up my mind , on what I like more
HM or CM...
:D
