namashkar mohan and gobilalitha, thanks for your responses.
I am a Hindusthani musician -- I do not have any melakarta raga to name.
In terms of Hindusthani notation, r is 'komal rishabha', g is 'komal gandhara',
m is 'shuddha madhyama', d is 'komal dhaivata', and n is 'lomal nishada'.
This leaves me with the possibility of considering all the varieties of notes
that you may suggest. I am sure any combination we consider will take care
of samvadita (consonance).
The avaroham: S' n d P m r S.
I did not infer this raga from any song.
I am a performing musician, and a beginner in the Carnatic genre.
Your responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks and regards,
Haresh.

That would be Thodi(CM)/Bhairavi(HM) janya with gandhara varjya...interestingly Parrikar uses capitalized M for sudhha madhyam (i. e capitalized for all shuddha swaras as per HM or the Bilawal/Sankarabharanm scale)....of course it could be a Vakulabharana janya as well...
No such raga that I have heard of...

namaste Vijay, thanks for the response.
Yes -- it is notes of Bhairavi with gandhara varjita.
As to the two prevailing conventions of representing madhyama using the keyboard,
some use capitalized M for sudhha madhyam (i. e capitalized for all shuddha swaras),
i.e. use capitalized S, R, G, M, P, D, and N for the upper variety of the notes (Sa and
Pa, of course, being only the achala variety), while others (like me) use r, g, m, d, and n
for the lower variety.
Thanks and regards,
Haresh.

karnatik.com lists nandini under mela 14 as well. ( http://www.karnatik.com/janyalist2.shtml )
( BTW It also lists vasanthabhairavi under mela 14 with the same aro/ava but I do not think that is right. In another list of janya ragas it gives a different aro/ava for vasanthabhairavi, so let us set side VB as mentioned in the above link )
