Complete absence of dynamics. But then, some people achieve that on the real instrument. But with clever sampling and playing he has achieved an excellent sound. What is the "instrument" that follows ghatam?

Oh, of course it must have been! I must have been a little stupid when I listened. But the sampling/effect was not as good as that of ghatam and mridangam, which were really excellent.

If he would only add dynamic range (as in soft and loud). I'm sure his keyboard must be capable of it. But, as I say, many mridangists don't, so maybe he did not see the need.

On the other hand... he could just play mridangam, which I'm sure he must be able to do. But I'm still very impressed on a look-what's-possible basis.
