Why must they make it MP3? Why not uncompressed CD sound?

It is a bad trend.

By the way: nice material on her blog. Well worth a visit, especially by those linguistically blessed.

Rhythm Music's earlier MP3 release of the same artiste did very well, so I guess they are following the line of least resistance. Many listeners do prefer a single MP3 CD to a twin-pack of audio CDs. To their credit though, Rhythm Music has also released a studio recording (increasingly rare these days) of popular Telugu kritis ("Sankirtanam") by the same artiste in Audio CD format, with excellent sound quality:
