Hi

Could anybody please comment on the
Concert given by GNB in 1960 which is available both as a CD and Cassette.

The Details of the CD are :

1 Swaminatha Paripalaya - Nattai
2 Kalala Nerchina - Deepakam
3 Marugelara - Jayanthsri
4 Brochevaravaru - Khamas

I would like to listen to the rest of the songs rendered by him.

I have a fair idea of the rest of the songs rendered by him and those are :

5 Paridhana - Bilahari (Master Piece of GNB)
6 Manasa Yetulo - Mayalamarutham (Another Master Piece of GNB)
7 O Rajeevaksha - Arabhi (A new approach given to Arabhi)
8 Marivaregathi - Anandhabhiravi
9 Vinayakuni - Madhyamavathi (A Rare rendition on Madhyamavathi given by GNB which
most of them would not have heard)

Pazhani Subramaniam Pillai's Mrigandgam is superb and neat. Can learn a lot of things from that concert.

Krishna212001,
I have GNB's CD with the the 1st 4 songs you have mentioned. Its an AIR release.I think I bought it from at Carnatica's Sanskriti shop in Chennai.
The recording is good & all the 4 songs are excellent with good accompaniments. My favourite is Swaminatha paripalaya in Natai & brochevarevarura in khamas.........his Khamas alapanai is too good.

More than GNB's alapana in khamas, I liked the short reply by chowdaiah. There is one place where no one has played (or copied) khamas like that.
I am not a great fan of GNB though I like MLV a lot. So you can discount me on GNB.
