Namaskaram,
I am in the process of choreographing a Shiva Thandavam. I'm looking for some rhythmic passages (not necessarily Jathis) that resonate Shiva's damaru. For instance: starting with Ghum Ghum thaka....more like a damaru sound. I also need the Nandi chollu.
I would welcome any contributions by the percussionists in this forum.
Thanks in advance

Re: Nandi and Damaru chollu
look out for Saptatandavam by madurai muralidharan . He has infused some very interesting chollu patterns for each tandavam. I am giving a link from my youtube clip ( the sound and movement doesn't match due to software issue)

Thanks Parimal. Apparently, my Guru also mentioned this CD of Saptha Tandavam.

Hari Om,
There is a book about the Natya Shastra which is translated into Tamil. One of the topics there is Saptha Thandavam, and in detail the sollukkattus for each thandava are given.
The name of the book is "Bharathanatiya Sastram" (Tamil) translated by Kalaimamani S.N. Shree Ramadesikan. Hope this is useful

Thank You BhaskarSreedar. It would be great if I know of any particular place that sells this book
