(My salutations to sarasvati, SAradA, the granter of knowledge) who is adorned (alaMkRta) with a vINA, a book (pustaka), and a garland (mAlA) made of superlative (vara) gems (maNi) held (dhRta) in her hands (kara)

sura sEvita pada yugaLE sudhAkara samadhavaLE (sarasvati namOstutE...)
(My salutations to sarasvati, SAradA, the granter of knowledge) , the consort/wife (lalita) of brahmA (vidhi), the son (suta) of vishNu/nRsimha (narahari), one with a conch-like (kambu) [1] neck (gaLE) that is adorned (yuta) with nine (nava) gems (maNi), one whose feet (pada yugaLE) [2] are worshiped (sEvita) by the gods (sura), who is equal (sama) to the moon (sudhAkara) [3] in fairness/whiteness (dhavaLE).
