I remember an excellent concert of her along with Gayathri and Bhavani Prasad. She was sure a rising star. RIP. May god give strength to the bereaved family.

What a misfortune :(
Definitely not the age to say goodbye to life. May God give strength to her family.

I remember seeing a website of hers where her home address was in Luz Church Road or something at mylapore. She made all right moves to be with Carnatic music. A writeup about her commitment in The Hindu.

Saw the news item after visiting the site in weeks. What a pity. Heartfelt condolences. May the family gather strength to deal with the tragedy.

This one really hurts .
Snatched in the prime of her life .
I always held an opinion that she gave a breath of freshness of the Hindusthani idiom into singing CM , like no other contemporary singer .When She sang , the distinctions did not matter .
Culled two snippets from a commercial track as a tribute.
Her interpretation of gorakh kalyan is masterly .
Her version of Hari Bhajane says everything about our great music.
Her last concert for Oli series was a masterpiece

Call it telepathy. Last night Dr Kamala Shankar, a well honoured young Hindustani guitarist (Shankara veena) was aired on 100.1 FM. I had just heard about her. It looked like a repeat of a Sammelan recording. I was treated to a very interesting exposition of a very rakti filled raga. Since I had not heard the raga announcement, I figured it out the hard way-mapping the notes, discerning Andolika like notes, researching the net and arriving at Gorakh Kalyan.

I also read that it is a raga to remember Saint Gorakhnath.

Harishankar, it's very nice of you to remember a young and talented lady who went prematurely...
