NEW YORK – Jiva Performing Arts & The Arch will be presenting a veena duet by the acclaimed husband and wife team, JT Jeyaraaj Krishnan and Jaysri Jeyaraaj Krishnan from Chennai, India. They will be accompanied by A.R. Balaskandan on Mridangam and G. Balaganesh on Morsing.
The veena is one of the most ancient string instruments and is used widely in the south Indian classical music style known as Carnatic music.
Jeyaraaj and Jaysri are "A" grade artists of AIR Chennai and have captivated audiences at prestigious venues in India and abroad. They have received numerous accolades from critics, including:
