How carnatic raaga is framed from arohana&avarohana swaras

Respected madam/sir, i am the beginner learning carnatic music. I am learning through books and web videos and materials. I have read kotta sangeeta vidya darpanamu by eka subbarao and some web materials and videos. I have this doubt that how total raaga is framed from arohàna and avarohana swaras. Raaga is rendered long time by vidhushis/pandits.
Can someone give me the idea of how raaga is framed from basic notes. Even if you provide web links videos or any reference books names also, i will be great.
