Sri M V Udayshanker, was the chief disciple or late Sri M N Kandaswami.
Sri Uday died shorthly after Sri M N Kandaswami died.
I was closely associated with him as a co disciple when i studied mridangam under Sri MNK.
i have lot of recordings of him and also photos.
He was mridangam teahcer at Tirupathi Music College as well.

Can Rasika members add their memories and experiences of him please.

All,

I met MV Udayshankar when he came to perform in my college @ Trichur, Kerala in the late 90s. I spent the whole evening with him and also attended the concert. A warm person, very easy to talk to and very humble - these are the 3 main characteristics that I remember when I think of him. His accompaniment for the concert was subtle but firm. I remember the way he played for the charanam in the Krithi Vaataapi... 101% PSP the great's stuff.

Its indeed sad that such a noble soul is not amongst us.
