Interesting write-up. More interesting to note the following passage (may be some kind of musical time-travelling): Spending time with stalwarts such as GNB, M.S. Subbulakshmi, M.D. Ramanathan or attending concerts at the Academy, “especially Sadas”, was a regular feature in Nithyasree’s life.

Except for the GNB part the rest is OK. GNB died in 1965 and Nithyashree was born in the Seventies if I am not mistaken!! But it is true that she grew up with Titans but did not let that deter her from intense practice with humility and deference.A remarkable young lady with poise and maturity and decency--note the complimentary comment about her late husband.Very few even amongst the Music World know that she went to Kasi after her husband's death with her husband's family to do the rites. She had to be "coaxed" to resume her Musical career by artistes like Sowmya et al.

I and every rasika would be praying for her to get back to her old form.

Believe the "hard" copy: I was there! :)

For almost ten years I have not been seeing Nithyasree, because she has been among the big-hall seat fillers, and I do not like the impersonal big-hall ambience.

I don't know whether I should even make this comment. Looks have nothing to do with musical skill. Neither wrinkles nor their absence make a musician, and I am not stupid enough to think that they do --- but I am amazed to see that she does not look a day older than she did a decade ago. It is a mark that she has overcome, or at least come to terms with, that terrible event in her life. I am happy for that, and that we are getting the chance to see her in smaller venues.

If any one thinks the personal comments are out of place, please excuse. No offence intended.

Nick no need to apologize. I think the issue is not with any or all personal comments, but rather with personal comments in poor taste (and before anyone brings it up, the definition of poor taste is not as amorphous as the definition of pornography!)....
