As mentioned in tamizh kritis thread : tUmaNi mADattu in miSracApu
https://vedics.org/index.php/r1/item/23 ... i-maadathu
Each syllable is counted as one mAtrA in the notation layout - even though there are dhIrgas - where the comma is shown explicitly following it - if the syllable is only one.
||,,tū |, ma |ṇi, || mā,, |ḍa, ttu, || ,, c cu | ṛṛum, vi, || ḷa,kke | ri, | ya,

||,, u | , mai | yō , || , , , | an, | ṛi, || ccevi, | ḍo , | , a || nan,, | ta, | lō ,
I notated the first line of the second quartet of verses to show how anri ccevido with stress on "cc " neatly hugs the samam!
Rest of them similar..

Of these this line is ripe for a neraval:
||,,mā |, mān | , ma || haḷe! , | , , | , ma || ṇi, ka | davam | , tāḷ || ,, ti | ṛa, | vāy ,
with dhIrgas spread over the verse. The syllables can be shifted away for effect.
||,,mā |, mān | , ma || haḷe! , | , ma | , , || ni - could be a finish round of each neraval.
Also with ma, man, occupying four syllables , the rest 24 ( including the 2 offset into the opening cycle) of the 4 cycles of miSra cApu can be shown as divisions of 3(s)
mahalE taking 6, manikadavam taking 9 , tALtiravay taking the other 9 to reach eDuppu, in a final rhythmic round.
The very fact that the syllables can seat themselves in such a pattern by itself means that the scope of for neraval is large, with the impedance mismatch ( pardon the electrical engineering terminology
) between the syllables (long/short) of the verse and the kriyas of the tAlA removed by miSra cApu.
