I can think of someone in the spontaneity category but he is much more musical.

Hmm.. Sri VGV seems to imply , the good spontaneous singer in India is either a siSu, or in a chitra (film - which is actually not the case  ) or in Indra lOka!

Shankarank,
If antics is meant, then I would name Kunnakkudi - such a wonderful vidwan and such antics!

Felt the need to cut to the correct bit.

Anything more spontaneous than this, and yet purposeful and meaningful to whomsoever it may concern?

Govindan,
A praiseworthy performance--with the brandishing the 'lyre'-ical notes too, but what a percussionist he/she is as well--playing more than one instrument for the beat!

My wife has one of those bird's calls as her ring tone. It always makes me laugh! :)

The performer is according to me only a He, because in addition to the nice singing he is displaying the splendour of his tail feathers. I understand that only male birds do such display to attract the females. Even toads sing. Most of the rasikas may know the saying in Tamil nuNalum than vAyAl kedum (Toads meet their end because of their mouth (i.e) croaking.

"...only male birds do such display to attract the females..."

I do not know whether others agree or not, it is my humble opinion that the etymology of 'SRngAra' is from 'SRnga' - the horn, which is the male pointer, and not 'peak'. In animal and bird species, the female species are bland as compared to male species. Well, humans have differing notions on everything, don't they?

It's not merely a matter of notions, Govindan. Blandness occurs both in the male and the female of the species, we see.
Yes, Govindaswamy, it's the male of the species (in animals and birds anyway) which seems to do a song and dance to attract the attention of the female of their species. Not that I thought this lyre bird was a female, but in doubt and with equality in mind about qualities which needn't be the sole possession of a he or she, I wrote so. At least, he's not a liar bird :)
