I posted a comment on their latest upload as follows:

Thank you, Nādabhṛṅga! Your efforts to bring out remastered vintage full-length grandmaster concerts is indeed laudable. Surely we are all spoilt for choice, and distracted in a thousand ways, these days, to sit through a full-length concert experience. But I know that budding talented youngsters learn the art by listening to such concerts alone and not by flitting from Youtube clip to Youtube clip.

What is at stake is the practice of our classical performing art that reveres a best-in-class, proven, approach to the Carnatic concert that was cast in the golden 40's-60's by these grandmasters.

Sadly those masters are long gone. Sadly the All India Radio is an orphan unable to retrieve and present the best. We do have some archives on tap but nothing curated and presented like this with song cues and audio remastering.

I wish Nādabhṛṅga continued success. Prioritise quality over quantity. Prioritise predictable and repeatable experience over sensationalism. Highlight the main as well as accompanying artistes. All the best!

Very well said. Both full concerts and short clips have their value. I am compiling Smt.MS renderings of the kruthis of various composers. Many of them are within a full-length concert. Many times, I have yearned that some one had split the video-clip so that I can share them in the compilation. ( Shankar Rajasekaran and a few others are doing that service) . Naadhabrunga also has begun to provide such clips along with their main upload. I can then selectively download and share them.


While a concert is like a Garand, individual kruthis are the flowers. varied in their fragrance and beauty.
