Sarvalaghu Percussion Art Center welcomes all rasikas to Chi. Maanav Balan's Mridangam Arangetram on Jan 29th, 2022

Student of Kalaimamani Vidwan Sri Ramesh Srinivasan, San Jose, accompanying Vidwan Dr. Harish Ganapathy on vocal, Vidushi Smt. Sandhya Srinath on Violin, and Vidwan Dr. Ravi Balasubramanian on Ghatam.

Date and Time: Saturday, 29th July 2022 from 14:00 hours
Seating and Pooja begins at 13:30 hours.

Let Maanav Balan catch the rope offered by Ramesh Srinivasan and be the next Shri Vellore Naada(Rama)badran. Nice to hear arangetram happening , I did not notice any in the last 2 years. Also good to see Lalgudi Sir sister Vidushi Brahmanandam and her daughter Anuradha are the chief guests. I recollect reading quite a lot of arangetrams done by students of Ramesh Srinivasan and posted here in rasikas.org, now Maannav is one more in the list, but he is a noteworthy sishya who is taking up post Covid .

Namaskaarams! Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. Due to Covid, our school arangetrams also had to take a brief pause. Maanav's arangetram was a perfect ice-breaker after a dry spell of 2+ years! We were indeed honored to have Brahmanandam Mama (Lalgudi Jayaraman Mama's brother-in-law) and his daughter, Anuradha Sridhar-ji, grace the occasion as Chief Guests! May Maanav continue to build on his layam learning as a true student of music should! Best regards!
