I read in the Hindu Entertainment pages that Dandapani Iyer died recently. He was Ramh's grandfather.
Kulkarni sa'ab,
Do you have any of his stuff from AIIR to share?
Thanks.

I have heard that he was in charge of the famous 'Vadya Vrinda' section of the AIR and he had notated many kritis for group rendition for the programme, arranged them alphabetically and also heard that AIR still has the pigeon holes for each alphabet and the notated kritis sitting in!

Here is The Hindu article of April 14, 2006 -
http://www.spramh.com/pdf/G%20N%20Dhandapani%20Iyer.pdf

In memory of his guru Shri Sabesa Iyer, Shri G. N. Dhandapani Iyer instituted the “T.S. Sabesa Iyer Endowment for Bodhaka Award” to be given away by the Music Academy.

In which year this was instituted ?
Is it still being given by the Music Academy every year ?
