wow, that TNK stamp on the Mohanam alapana! A few years back, a bunch of us here took up the exercise to map a snippet of his Mohanam alapana to swaras. arun, cml, suji, bilahari may remember. What a great exercise it was. Not that I managed to do it but it was a great inspiration and model to come up with my own.

CRama: I watched the recording. There were some glitches here and there and the volume was a bit on the lower side but when I put on the headphones it was quite fine. Just a suggestion and see if it works for you.

I will open a separate thread for discussing this topic after the season with his lecdem as the basis for our discussion. I think he makes some interesting points and I think it will be a fruitful discussion. May be we can invite Palghat Sriram to participate .

BTW, what is the background of Sriram? I assumed he was a mridangist but then I heard him say that he did not learn mridangam.
