Academy of Music - Chowdiah Hall music festival Nov 24 - 28

There is an upcoming music festival at Chowdiah Hall in Bangalore, Nov 24th - Nov 28th, organized by Academy of Music, Bangalore.

I believe there are concerts planned on all days.

As I do not have complete information about the event, may I ask anyone who may have full details of the event to post that information here.

Nov.24- Lobby concert at 4.30 pm- Karnatak vocal by Uma Kumar and party; Evening concerts at 5.30 pm- Karnatak vocal duet by Bangalore Brothers Hariharan & Ashok and party; 6.30 pm- Karnatak vocal by Vid. Sanjay Subramanyam accompanied by Vid. S. Varadarajan (violin), Vid. V.Neyveli B. Venkatesh (mrudangam), Vid. Venkataraman (khanjira).

Nov.25- Morning Academic Sessions from 9.45 am- Lecture demonstrations by Vidu. Suguna Puru-shotham and Dr.S.C. Sharma; 4.30 pm- Karnatak vocal by Sai Tejas and party; 5.30 pm- Karnatak vocal by B.S. Anand and party; 6.30 pm- Karnatak instrumental Chitraveena by N. Ravikiran, Vidu. Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi (violin), Dr. A.K. Palanivel (tavil), Vid. Arunkumar (drums), Vid. M.A. Krishnamurthy (ghatam) and Vid. N. Amruth on khanjira.

Nov.26- Morning sessions-9.45 am: Lecture demonstrations by Chitraveena N.Ravikiran and Vid. Pra-veen Godkindi; 4.30 pm- Veena recital by Srilatha and party; 5.30 pm- Hindustani vocal by Anagha Bhat and party; 6.30 pm- Karnatak and Hindustani vocal jugalbandi by Prof. Nagamani Srinath and Vidu. Shruti Sadolikar-Katker, Vid. Mysore Srikanth-violin, Vid. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharmamridangam, Vid. Uday Raj Karpur-tabla, Dr. Ravindra Katoti-harmonium.

Nov.27- Morning sessions from 9.45 am: Colloquium on "Cultural Policy" by Shruti Editor Ram Narayan, Addl. Chief Secretary Chiranjeevi Singh, Sangeet Natak Academy Secretary Jayant Kastuar and Chennai Music Academy President N.Murali; 4.30 pm- Violin solo by H.M. Smitha and party; 5.30 pm- Hindustani vocal by Soudhamini Venkatesh and party; 6.30 pm-Karnatak vocal duet by Ranjani and Gayatri, Vidu. Charulatha Ramanujam on violin, Vid. H.S. Sudhindra on mridangam, Vid. Ranganatha Chakravarthy on ghatam.

Nov.28- Morning sessions-9.45 am: Lecture demonstrations by Dr. Pappu Venugopala Rao and Chitra Vishweshwaran.

Sri K.K. Murthy Memorial Chowdaiah Award-2010 will be presented to Padma Vibhushan Sangeeth Martand Pandit Jasraj and Ganakala Bhushana Prof. Nagamani Srinath at a glittering function to be held on Nov.28 at 5 pm.

Union Minister for External Affairs will present the awards. Former Supreme Court Chief Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah will be the chief guest.

The award function will be followed by a Karnatak vocal concert by Vidwan T.M. Krishna. Vid. Mysore M.Nagaraj will accompany on violin, Vid. Ganapathy Raman on mridangam and Vid. Giridhar Udupa on ghatam.
