1. For simplicity sake I have mentioned merely "killing". The actual punishment is "Kazhuvetrudal".

The punishment is to hang him from a wooden stump in a public place.

On seeing the plight of his ardent devotee, Lord Panduranga makes the wooden stump burn up in full view with all the people including the Nawab watching to demonstrate the greatness of Sri Madhvamuneeswarar.
