Is there a difference between Bhimpalas and Abheri... also does Bhimpalas belong to Hindustani Music system...??

I have an interesting Bhimpalasi Abheri Jugalbandhi cd by Kadri Gopalnath saxophone and V Narasinhalu Wadvati, clarinet, 30 minutes, CD C5CI5036, title Classical Confluence, I recommend this cd.

So Bhimpalas and Abheri are not one and the same... Am I correct?? If so.. pls tell me the difference...Thnks..

They do sound very similar Naada Priya...I heard an Ashwini Bhide recital on World Space once and I thought it was very similar in structure to Abheri. Later it was announced that it was Bhim Palasi.

No idea about Kaunsi Kaandaa...yeh kaunsi kaanada?!

what about karnatakadevagandhari? is it also a cousin of bhimpalasi and abheri ? the song is eppadi padinaro by DKP/ gobilalitha

As per CM, Bimplas is also known as HEMAKARAHARAPRIYA- Janya of karaha.priya with NI SA GA MA PA NI SA (AROH); SA NI DA PA MA GA RI SA (AVA)
Ref:Raga koskam -by Sri R.R.Keshavamurthy-kannadam
Whereas , Abheri has sudha deivatham -known to be the janya of (20)NaTa bhairavi with SA GA MA PA NI SA(aROH);SA NI DA PA MA GA RI SA(AVAROH)
The above is as per Sri Rangiah Mysore.
Where as , as per Samp.Pradharshini The ArOh.has SA GA MA PA SA NI SA AND aVARo- SAMPOORNAM AS NAtA BHAIRAVI
