thete is a mention in my diary of the early eighties about a beautiful song ;kabhi tanhayimain hamaari yaad ayegi , a classical song set in the raaga dhani, i suppose( SUDHA DHANYASI OF CARNATIC MUSIC), SUNG BY MUBHARAK BEGUM WITH A CAPTIVATING VOICE. , poorman's lata, there were several singers with very pleasant voices ,like suman kalyanpur(another poorman's lata,) can we forget her 'aaj hun aayen baalma " with rafi . I am always wondering why they could not scale greater heights, like the mangeshkar sisters . there is vani jayaram also .she at least became very famous in tamil and other suth indian language films. gobilalitha
