This is indeed Bhagavata 'sudhArasaM'; extracted nectar. Since Bhagavaam is an ocean he is distilling it in three CDs. Great!
PuShkaram means nourishment. This is the tonic for the soul!
Thank you!

I guess Sri Sri anna would have conducted the Bhagavata Saptaham at Pushkaram of which this is the recording.

puShkara has myriad meanings
Water/Sky(Heaven)/tip of elephant's trunk/ skin of the drum/Blue Lotus/ blade of a sword/ One of the seven dvIpas of the world/ an arrow/....
The meaning that I wrote 'nourishment' is not among them!
But the dhatu 'puSh' means to nourish which leadss to the natural expression 'puShk^Ri' meaning 'actively nourish and with the (a) pratyayam we get the word 'puShkaram' meaning that which actively nourishes i.e., a tonic- in this case a tonic of the mind which is most appropriate to be applied to bhAgavatam!
(I have yet to hear what aNNa has to say..)

I am not aware whether it refers to a place where the pravacanam was rendered....

Thanks shankar for that ekashlokI summary..

Ha! That is why the style is different! His excursions into other languages are interesting while aNNa would strictly stick to the 'sanskrit' text.

Dear Param
Venerable shuka took seven days to narrate the whole of Bhagavatam to ParikShit Raja. You started on 3rd and are finished on the 6th. Thanks for the mammoth labour of love. It will take many more days to hear the whole and enjoy the pravacanam. I look forward to the day when these u/l can be made directly to a cyber drive in the brain with instant recognition ;)

Pushkaram refers to the first twelve days starting from the day on which Guru ( Jupiter) enters a rashi. Depending on the rAshi in which the jupiter is located the river at which the Pushkaram is celebrated varies. the kAvEri Pushkaram is celebrated in Srirangam. Possibly Sri Anna performed the saptAham during the pushkaram.

Please read the following article for more information on pushkaram(s).

I have been downloading bhagavatham little by little. Today I do not see the links for part 7-30. Have these been removed? would it be possible to activate them again? Many many thanks to Shri Param for this as well as the ayodhya kandam.
