**Meaning**

__Pallavi__ :  Don’t You have affection? What words of gesture You are speaking? 

__Charanam__ : 

1. Don’t You have even a little kindness? Is there any duty against one’s self-interest? O Lord who wears garland of wild flowers! Won’t You have mercy on me? Won’t You this quality of procrastination leave You even now? 

2. If You have wealth (for bestowing on me), keep it to Yourself; I entreated You  to have compassion on me; deign to come hearing about my anxieties; I do not know that You do not have (good) conduct. 

3. I believe that You are the Lord; I have heard about the condition in which gajEndra was (when he called You); I won’t entreat the slaves of cupid (Lord of rati); I have a name that this tyAgarAja is Your man.

__Charanam 1__ : __tannu mAlina dharmamu galadA__ – This has been translated as ‘is there any duty against one’s self-interest?’ based on the quotation  - ‘tananu mAlina dharmam modalu ceDDa bEram - a code of conduct that is against one's interest is a bad bargain’ – source –

This is equal to Tamil proverb ‘tanakku miJci dharmam’.  (தனக்கு மிஞ்சி தருமம்).

__Charanam 1__ : __tannu mAlina dharmamu galadA__ – Reading together with pallavi words ‘abhimAnamu lEdA’ and the C3 words ‘nIvADani pEru konnAnu’, SrI tyAgaraja seems to convey that ‘since I am Yours, it is in Your self-interest (Your duty - dharma) to protect me; otherwise, You will be going against Your own self-interest (tannu mAlina)’. 

__Charanam 3__ : __pOkalu galadani__ – Though this has been translated as ‘not have good conduct’, there is some doubt whether this is what SrI tyAgarAja means.
