gOpis – among themselves
Pallavi : Let all of us, damsels, join together and speak to hari requesting him (to join in the frolic).
Charanam :
1. It is a nice day for us to carry on frolic in water as kRShNa watches.
2. Is it comforting to be separated from kRShNa - the Lotus Eyed? Is it in our capacity to reach the boat to the shore?
3. He is the prince; He has worn ornaments studded with precious stones;
4. It is said that He isn’t a small child; we don’t know whether He will be afraid?
5. People will back-bite about us with His mother; people will slander us to make us ashamed.
6. It will give room for ridicule; yet may our play not be known to the World.

7. O damsels! As You keep pondering among Yourselves, the time is passing away;
8. Enough of it! come here and push the boat into the water.

pallavi : manamAdudAma - This is how it is given in the book of TSV/AKG. However, in the book of TKG, it is given as ‘manamAdudAmu’, but the meaning taken is that ‘manamAdudAma’. Accordingly, this has been adopted.
