Post by hariharan »

I wish to get the lyrics of this Bhajan song. Sri. Udayaloor Kalyanaraman sings this song in his sampradaya bhajans, in rag Hindolam. The song begins;

Chandrasekhara saraswathiye saranam Kanchi vazh dayaanidhiye

eedal - to give/bring forth; aLittAy - gave with an intent to bless. In Tamil, we have this habit of 'perfecting' the act! Other, please correct if I am wrong.

Sri. Santhanam had sung this song and audio is available in 'sangeethapriya" web site. the link is

http://www.sangeethapriya.org/Downloads ... /mumbai85/
Sl . no. 4
&
http://www.sangeethapriya.org/Downloads/MSanthanam/2/
sl. No. 10

At both the above two audio links, the song is sung not in the Adi Talam, instead it appears to be in Rupaka Talam-2 kalai. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Who is the composer of this song, any information please? Please clarify my doubts. Thanks

It is to be noted that Maharajapuram Sri. Santhanam has composed 2 compositions on Mahaperiyavaa Chandrasekhara Saraswathi Swamigal.
1. Kriti - Chandrashekhara Saraswathiye Sharanam - Hindolam - Khanda Chapu
2. Tillana - Thom dhru dhru dhaani (Charanam: Kaliyum thannil kann kanda deivam). - Vasant Bahaar - Aadi.
