Ravi, could you please translate this line from the last charanam of the shanmukhapriya varnam of Lalgudi Jayaraman's?
(...) arul Geethaiyudan aram kAttu
maram Ezhuruva saram eidu tan tiram nATTiDum parandAman
My apologies if this has been discussed here, but I did search without finding a translation.

Hi Ranganayaki!
This is an interesting varNam - particularly in these lines where the composer combines elements/events from kRshNAvatAra and rAmavatAra in describing the paramAtmA, venkaTESa perumAL:
Protecting (kAttu) moral/virtuous/religious values (aRam) (by) graciously (aruL) instructing (upadESam) arjuna on the gIta while driving his chariot, you are the paramAtmA (parandAman) who established (nATTiDum) his (tan) physical prowess (tiran) by shooting (eidu) a single arrow (Saram) that passed through (uruva) seven (Ezhu) trees (maram).
The part about the seven trees is from the kiSkinda kANDam of the rAmAyaNa. Arunschala Kavirayar refers to it in yEn paLLikonDIrayya when he enquires if that was one of the reasons for His lassitude (marangaL Ezhum tuLaittOm....)

Oh, beautiful, thank you, Ravi!
