Re: Thevaram translations
Have checked this website already, the PDFs only seem to have the Tamil lyrics, no translations to English.

Re: Thevaram translations
This helps, but this site has general translations. I need the word for word translations because I’m using this for dance choreography.

Re: Thevaram translations
Hello Vishkir
I am assuming that you need tranlations only for the first verses of these Tevarams and not the entire ten/eleven verses.
You can post one verse at a time here (Copy paste from thevaaram.org). Some of us will then try to help.

Re: Thevaram translations
Just this for now

Re: Thevaram translations
வல்லவர் - Those well-versed
திருநெறிய தமிழ் - (in) the sacred Tamil poetry
ஞானசம்பந்தன் - which Gnanasambandha
உரை செய்த - has said,
(to them)
தீர்தல் - getting rid of
தொல்வினை - past Karma
எளிதாமே - is easy.
Gnanasambandha who
உணர் - realises
பெம்மான் இவன் தன்னை - this Lord (Shiva)
பெருநெறிய - of (the fame of) giving Mukti,
பிரமாபுரம் மேவிய - who lives in Brahmapuram (Sirgazhi)
வைத்து - keeping (Him in)
ஒருநெறிய மனம் - mind focusing singly (on HIm)
Brahmapuram/Sirgazhi wherein
அலர் மேய - flowers fill
அகன் பொய்கை - wide ponds/tanks
and which was established by
முனி - the sagely Brahma
மறை வல்ல - expert in the Vedas,
அருநெறிய - which tell us the great, right path.
Hope this is clear.

Re: Thevaram translations
Since this is the last, eleventh verse of the Pathigam, it is like a Phalashruti, informing us of the benefits that the person reading the first ten verses would get. It also has the Mudra of the author and of the Talam ( place) where it was composed.
