Good to see that they are accompanied at the Music Academy by the redoubtable UKS!

For the first time I heard thru them a rare rAgam by name kanakavasantham, which I have not heard yet from any one else. When I heard that one concert in sastri hall, both brothers were balanced and each of them gave the other brother a equal chance to perform . That is always a nice thing to see and hear when two musicians sing.

Beautiful rendering of Manirangu by the brothers:

Personally, I feel Rudrapatnam brothers are right up there in terms of vidwat. Sampradaya sangeetham to the core.

Nice rendition. I have one question though. Do they generally sing with their head bowed or are they looking at their notebooks?

Not surely for a kriti 'Mamava Pattabhirama'. The brothers are well known for
singing rare krithis/ragas and offer a lot of variety in their concerts.
I haven't seen them looking to notebook while singing.

I have attended several of the brothers' concerts, and don't remember them looking at notebooks.

"So what?" - I'm trying to understand if they were looking at their books or if they just sing like that in general.

Rudrapatnam Brother's concert was telecased by Doordarshan national channel today at 8:30AM. Was really nice.

I thought we had a thread on Rudrapatnam Brothers on our Forum - Search did not bring up a thread under Vidwans & Vidushis.

I know there are many others on this Forum like me who enjoy their music

Congratulations to Veena Rajarao Memorial Foundation for selecting the Rudrapatnam Brothers for the award.

They have steadfastly refused to compromise their music for the sake of fans, fame or fortune.

Let us celebrate such musicians for they are the keepers of our tradition.
