TV Namasivayam and TM Thiagarajan used to sing together until the former passed away. There is one AIR concert of this duo - would anybody happen to have that?

In the intro to this track, the tALam is specified as catuSra tripuTa tALam - now that is Adi tALam, right? Why not call it that way? Is it infra-dig to do so?

That is a technically correct name. In fact you will see that in a lot of oldtimers publications/manuscripts. MV stated it as caturaSra tripuTa only, not Adi in his publications

(MOD: The three posts below were moved from the 'unrecognized musicians' thread

I wish to add the name of Tiruvarur Namasivayam in this list.
Most of us would have heard him .A particular concert on the radio which i have heard upteen number of times is noteworthy of his contribution. He was a principal at the Music college, Thiruviyar.

The concert read as follows:

1.Karunimpa-Sahana-Varnam
2.Neevadane -Saranga
3.RTP-In Kiravani

I was totally spell bound listening to this great musician who never got any recognition as informed by my father.

I always had the feeling that Musicians with either a good backround(Guru) else with an ability in possessing extra(...) talents other than the required only are being either recongnised or make them recongnise for the awards.

very few occasions can see talents take the spotlight which is a very sorry state in the annals of carnatic mucis.

After listening to TVN and many others in the list, I got the feeling that talent is just one thing that matters little.

I think this is the concert Giridharan is referring to:

TV Namasivayam - M Chandrasekharan - Trichy Sankaran : AIR Chennai

01 - Sahana Varnam
02 - Nee Vadane Gana - Saranga
03 - Padavini - Salagabhairavi
04 - RTP - Kirvani
05 - Enna Solli - Kaanada
06 - Parulanna - Kaapi Javali

I would appreciate if someone can post a recording of this concert. Thanks.
