Vow, Pantulu Rama sings so well, I have only heard friends in this board and sangeetham talk about how good she is.
Once again, coolkarni sir thanks so much
I have to say that my music knowledge has improved so much after hearing the recordings that friends have shared.

What an electrifying presentation with the accompnist keeping pace!
Just note that Raja Raja Rajithe is in NiroshTa and was composed by HMB when Odeyar had some blisters on the lips. The Raga is an invention of HMB and is pancama madhyama varjya. A fitting contribution from one genius to another!

However we cannot say Pantula Rama in Niroshta ;-)

I missed downloading the tracks of this artist other than a solitary Saraswati piece(Anuragamuleni). Even that track has 3 minutes or so alapana and then cuts over to swarakalpana. Every note seems to fall exactly into its place effortlessly in her rendition! Very pleasing voice and confident execution to boot.

Can someone kindly upload couple more tracks of this artist as well as Anuragamuleni in its entirety?

Thank you very much
Rajee Ram

Thanks venkatakailasam. Excellent concert by Dr. Smt. Pantula Rama. Very nice set of songs for such an hour-long concert.
She sings quite effortlessly with no exaggerated physical movements even as she reaches high pitches. That is very
pleasant, and in places quite stunning. 4:33 lalithE with no discernible physical strain where I noticed this first. ( her voice at higher octaves gets a bit leaner very occasionally.. I do not know if it is really leaner or just a different timbre )

In the first song in Neelambari, after a torrent of swaras, the effect of the short pause after 'Shring..' and then resuming
the fast singing produces enjoyable variations in dynamics.

interesting! I had seen the video earlier, but never noticed this. Is she telling him to keep it down?
Ramanamurthy is one of her regular accompanists. I think the gesture was just a calibration related issue.

And very pleasantly communicated, whatever the message was!! She has very pleasant stage manners in general and in establishing and maintaining the facial communication with the rest of the group. That comes with confidence on the stage.

I have become a fan of this song after listening to her sing this song these few times. Quite a different flavor of Neelambari.

Aditto,
Thank you for the clip. This is an example of her singing which explains why I'm so fond of her singing. mOhanamAna rAgam but people get tired of listening to it repeatedly, they say. And a very popular song at that. I get a bit bored when I have to listen to the same old song sometimes. Yet, in all the nine minutes or so before the tani, I didn't feel bored at all--on the contrary, I was hooked in by her 'naDandu vandAyO enaik kAkkavE?' naDAci vachitivO nannu pAlimpa. She brings freshness to her singing in one way or the other. Her svarAs too.

I like this husband and wife team--both are professors, both are vocalists and violinists, and what they serve on stage is refreshing music, has a tinge of adventure, and above all, there is an elegance in her singing which isn't on the surface level. It springs from deeper wells.

Her student did a good job too. I missed our Ahiri on the stage with her.

Yes Arasi garu. Her singing his, well, I do not have words !!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIfrZHseotE - RTP Narayani.

There was this Nalinakanthi - Manavi Alakincharade. It was probably deleted by this copyright claims. I just wish that the concerts from artists like Pantula Rama
garu and Manda Sudha Rani garu are released as commercial albums.

My words might not be correct - But with so much technology around us, if with permission, the concerts of these people are recorded and released as commercial recordings, or uploaded in SP, we will be preserving pristine music.

Down the generation, they should not talked about like musicians whose music is so rich but there are no recordings.

Wonder if Sivakami was able to attend... the RTP seems lovely- I’m sure there was a ragamalika section as well.

So, is it the writer’s error, or an efitor’s erroneous fix that changes the words of SrI Sethu Madhava Rao’s and SrI PD’s compositions?

Congratulations to vidushi Pantula Rama. She truly deserves the coveted Indira Sivasailam Award. Award announced on 11th September ,2019 in The Hindu
https://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/ch ... 386844.ece

Also i see that as it is 10th year even accompanying artists are recognized . I am assuming this will be a recurrent feature from this year 2019 onwards. Kudos to RKSK, JV and Bhagyalakshmi(morsing). One of the finest gestures of a corporate entity Amalgamations headed by Indira Sivasailam daughter to systemically recognise deserving artist(s).

Rajesh,
You couldn't have brought better news. One of my favorite artistes is receiving this prestigious award. RamAgAru richly deserves this honor. Sriramkumar and J Vaidyanathan highly deserve their awards as well--on their own merits and in being representatives who continue the musical tradition of their families. It's DKP's centenary year as well :) Upa pakkavAdyam award too from this year. I'm so happy for Bhagyalakshmi. Another instrumentalist continuing her family tradition...:)
