Dr R Hemalatha is a brilliant violinist with exceptional shruthi suddham in her play. I have no idea from whom she learnt violin(some one can add all those details) . Her appa rangachari is the kanjira artist and her two elder sisters vijayalakshmi and chitra popularly called mambalam sisters are also established vocalist. Of later vidushi hemalatha's daughter is also into vocal .
I do know she has a music phd but I did not know how she presents, till i heard few snippets in guruguhaamrta. Her Lecdem was published in The Hindu dated Nov 16.2018. vidushi Dr R Hemalatha is indeed a rare musician ,who mostly lets her violin only communicate.
