Are these artists all based out of us. I am assuming they are the next gen kids born and trained in the US . I like their musical attitude the concert is bit short but hey still there is RTP. May be there is the anjaneya balam from the nearby hanuman temple (I do know there is one in Dallas Metro area ) that gave them the drive to sing RTP.
You have already graduated to write great reviews . In future do open a new thread for each concert proper title date and placeholder please. I am sure there was a ragamaliga swaras, may i know the ragas.
.

Rajeshnat ji, pratyaksham bala ji has put a very detailed bio of all the artistes. I was out so missed your post. Thanks pratyaksham bala ji .
All three are india born and raised artistes , all of whom seem to be employed here in Dallas area. I did want to say that i found it admirable that they're able to keep up with their practice while managing jobs and families (they all are around 30-40 age bracket or maybe 45). But that's hardly an exception. There are loads of artistes who have moved abroad for jobs are doing the same, so I refrained from saying so.
Thank you for your appreciation, i'll put my next review as a separate post (just realised my next post on Bharat Sunder concert didnt get submitted due to timeout/leaving browser unattended)

Rajeshnat ji, i'm still a novice in CM but i tried my best to guess the ragas. My guess:Kaapi, Shankarabharanam and Kamboji.
Shri. Shankar (the mridangam artiste) put up the RTP on yotube: https://youtu.be/SXlYdLevQ3I
I'd be so glad if you would take a look at it, and tell me if i got atleast one of the them correct..
Brief report of TM Krishna's recent Boston concert (3/31/2024).
Venue: Regis College, Weston MA
He started with a Reethigowlai with a brief alapana and sang Janani Ninnivina followed by a Dikshitar krithi -- Kanakambari Kaarunya with a long alapana followed by tanam. He spent a brief while expounding on the differences between the Raagaanga Raga scheme followed by MD versus the Melakartha scheme followed by Thyagaraja and SS and how they are materially different, and hence Kanakambari is not the same as Kanakangi. For a casual listener like me, it all went a little over my head. I had heard this krithi once or twice before and thought it was kanakangi. Moving on... Followed that with a beautiful rendition of Saraguna Palimpa with extended alapana in Kedaragowlai. To me this was the highlight of the concert. The rest of the pieces were light and shortish. A poem by poet Perumal Murugan (Azhuthen Kangal Sivakka...), an interesting alternate version of the national anthem tuned by two musician friends of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Bruhi Mukundeti and one or two other pieces which I do not recall.
It left me, a long time fan of TMK, wanting more. But in his defense, this concert was part of a festival and regrettably the organizers were urging him to finish up, presumably to set the stage for the next sarod concert by Ken Zuckerman.
I'll put myself in the camp of people who won't stop listening to TMK any time soon.
Oh and someone asked what is the composition of the audience. Seemed to be very knowledgeable CM fans mostly. Age range was from young families with little children to many vayasana thathas and pattis. Whatever his politics are it didn't seem to deter this lot. Not many empty seats.

this recorded version was sung by Captain Lakshmi. Sister of Mrinalini Sarabhai and daughter of Ammu Swaminathan. One of the oldest recordings of this anthem.
Mohan/kamalamba,
I am glad you brought that up. Yes, Captain Lakshmi as she was known, but look at the label! She was Lt. Colonel by then! Little did I know. She was one of the women we young girls looked up to in our ancient times.
I am looking at this thread just now, after months. Rajesh is right. How this thread got hidden in the Attendance Report thread! Yes, Thamizhisai_piriyan, please write more reviews and post them in Concert Reviews
I am very much with you when it comes to TMK's concerts of late. I will still go to one, hoping that he would sing more in his performances. I am still savoring the one where he nearly did--at Bengaluru in February!
