Very good concert. I liked Saveri, Sree Subramanyaya Namasthe rendered brilliantly (with neraval at Tapathraya Hara Nipuna - the same place GNB would do neraval, instead of Vasavadhi Sakala deva) and Nandagopala was very moving. Arunprakash's accompaniment was superb; one of the best performances I have heard from him recently (perhaps, TMK/RKS/KAP @ NGS in Dec 31, 2011 might be one of the best concerts I have heard - chetasree balakrishnam). TM is a man of the moment and his music is also like that; his music is without gimmicks or playing to the gallery or for applause. Varnam in Kanada at the near end of the concert, I was too not keen. Overall, a very good concert.

Reminds me of nouveau cuisine. Once the Rang Mahal Sentosa hosted a Tarla Dalal food fest. Hungry, we were a bunch of folks eager to tuck into something great and substantial. What we did get to eat, was a series of trade mark dishes in minuscule quantities and serve in total random order, what a hallmark of creativity and at the same time disappointment for us normal folks

It was indeed a good concert, of course with no pattern. A bunch of ragas, varnams, taanams, swarams, songs placed in the most disorganized manner (it's a tm concert, ought to be). But each piece came out an an individual gem. It was as though he was plunging deeper and deeper into each ragam. Each sangati was new and soaked in bhavam. Arun's accompaniment was as always a treat to listen to. HN Bhaskar's taanam and raga flashes were very original. Chandru Sharma beautifully gelled with Arun, unlike many others.

What a rendition of the last piece, nandagopala. Kudos to Arun for enhancing it in the most beautiful way.
