A collection @ https://shankarkrish.wordpress.com/musi ... amanathan/ including the YT track mentioned above
And one more YT full concert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebDcnfH2zMc
Seems he is at home, or rather have a pretty intimate relationship with MMG family - swarams just flow for sAveri (durusugA) and gUrjari (varAlandu)

Oh my goodness!! Varshaji, how do i ever thank you for this gem! Honestly, i always believed that this krithi and ragam is "owned" by DKJ & never even bothered to look for another version from anyone else. But how beautiful this is!!!
LGJ & TS---- They just don't make it and come ANY BETTER...
What a beautiful thani at the end! The valam-edam serkkai in the kuchi vAdhyam, the gumukki variations, the sollu development, all within a 10-minute time span. Brevity at its best. This track should hopefully compensate on me missing this year's season.

Just the way LGJ's swaraprasthArAs inspires Dr. SR is something magical.
Such symmetry and perfection in each and every abhiprAyam that Lalgudi plays!! A genius beyond the comprehension of mere mortals!

Beautiful slokam - http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Newhome ... SL022.html - in bhavAni, ykk, madyamAvathi in the SR/TRukmini/UKS concert for Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha from 1979, followed by a beautiful Ahiri (callarE, starting with amita parAkrama caranam#4 and totally eschewing anupallavi!). T Rukmini - simply superb!
PS: While there is so much eloquent waxing about the violin trinity, T Rukmini and the ilk languish so much underappreciated.

Dr. Sri. S Ramanathan and his disciples + few other singers had sung the Utsava Sampradaya Kritis of Thyagaraja recorded in the AIR Vijayawada and used to be relayed in the Bhakti Ranjini Programme in the early morning hours. The renditions are so beautiful and sweet. I have a few of them, will hunt and post soon. He used to regulalrly sing in Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya in T Nagar. An absolutely classy Musician.

This song is an utsava sampradAya kIrtana, and not a kRti. So it has the structure of a pallavi followed by several caraNa-s with identical varNameTTu. If the stanza beginning sompaina manasuto were the anupallavi, there would be a problem pallavi-anupallavi AdiprAsa - callare and sompaina don't match.
The 'Modern-day Matanga' (to use Prof SRJ's excellent birudu for S.Ramanathan) is unlikely to forget anupallavi.
Dorakuna ituvanti musician?

Thanks for that nugget of info keerthi. http://www.karnatik.com/c2234.shtml lists sompaina as anupallavi (in p/ap/c format) and so I went by that, whereas http://sahityam.net/wiki/Challare_Ramachandruni lists only p/c.keerthi wrote:
