As the curtains lifted, Nisha was as surprised as I was when I walked in. The huge hall had barely a handful of rasikas. My neighbour kindly obliged by informing me that the previous day, the official start of 4.30pm was pushed to 5.15!!
Maybe that, threw Nisha a bit - though she looked thoroughly calm and composed.
gAnamoorthE and MD's SubramanyEna in Sudha Dhanyasi though appended with R & KS were a bit lacklustre.
She ploughed on with an essay of Varali for kA vA vA and OVK's popular Atana kriti Madhura Madhura. Her beautiful voice and shruti shuddham came shining through with some sensitive accompaniment-specially on the Mridangam
Then she shut her eyes and went for a beautiful Muruga Muruga in Saveri. That opened up to a charming segue into Kedara Gaulai alapana for 'Swamikku Sari' with Neraval @ 'pAr Kadal Adhanil' KS and Thani
She wrapped up with Bharathiyar's Ragamalika 'kAkai chiraginile' and a stunning viruttam for 'Naan yen seyyum' for Kaliyuga Moorthiyaay.
Its a concert worth watching when telecast by Jaya TV
