1. Rare kritis. Unusual fare. Great presentation. Typical Brinda concert.
2. Nice support from percussion team. Listening to the Kanjira artiste for the 1st time.

Brinda certainly has extraordinary confidence in presenting not just rare , to me in the above list of 6 I am aware of 3 only after reading suresh post.

I have seen BM from her early age. Iam still proud my daughter learnt full "Abhirami andhadhi" from BM. They stay in Mandaveli where I visit regularly. Rarely you see a family where Lalitha Sahasranamam is being chanted daily.

Her family is very close to me from Dubai days, where BM learnt her initial training.. Coming to chennai Smt. Suguna moulded her beautifully. Arulpriya, her sister, also sings very well.

Here is the family, who against all ODDs" stood out and emerged as victorious in CM field. She is very hard worker and her father Maickavasagam is a severe critic of her daughter's concert and a very tough task master.

That is a very wrong yardstick & goal, IMO. This fixation with MA/SK has to stop.

Her music is always classy, traditional, comprising some rare kritis, and neat presentation. Very enjoyable and the music that stays in the mind!

Last Friday, The HIndu carried a review of her concert somewhere.

sankark- Again we are starting a new topic- what is the Yardstick of music. This has got many answers, may be no answer too.

To my knowledge, she had sung in Cleveland, Swati Tirunaal utsav & of course chennai sabhaas. Great going...!!!

I listened to BM a few days back at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Recital marked by poise / vishraanti. Worth emulating.

Hope to attend her Academy concert.

I listened to the webcast. One can easily understand that she is affected by a severe cold. Her voice sounds nothing like her original voice. Despite all that she has managed to pull the concert off with reasonable success. Kudos to her.
