at Neelakantan Sivan Cultural Academy, Nanganallur

TKV Ramanujacharyulu - Violin
AK Sruthi Ranjani - Violin Support
Kottayam G Santhoshkumar - Mridangam
Nanganallur Swaminathan - Ghatam

A krti in nATa, khaNDacApu (S)
vandanamu - sahAna - Adi - T (sketch)
Ananda naTam - pUrvikalyANi - rUpaka - Neelakantan Sivan (RS)
niravadhi sukhada - ravicandrika - Adi - T (sketch)
rangapuravihAra - brindAvana sAranga - rUpaka - MD (sketch)
E nATi nOmu phalamO - bhairavi - Adi - T (RNS)
tani
nArAyaNa tE namO - behAg - Adi - Annamacharya (R)
anRivvulagam - sindhubhairavi - Adi - ANDAL (R)
bhAgyada lakShmi - madhyamAvati - Adi - PD

It was a good concert. The sahAna sketch was well done. The swarams for pUrvikalyANi dragged a bit, searching for patterns but settling for something not extraordinarily interesting. niravadhi sukhada could have been more energetic, especially with the leisurely MD krti to follow. But from the brief announcement Sri TKV made before the item, he seemed to also want to also highlight the shAntarasa of the rAga (which imo comes out much more in mAkElarA vicAramu).

The orthodox and crisp brindAvana sAranga was the highlight for me. The krti was done very neatly too.

AKS's support during the bhairavi neraval-swara, especially neraval, was very good, avoiding a lag in the flow of music.

The tani induced some more energy in the concert.

The tukkaDa section, with an Annamacharya krti, a tiruppAvai and a dEvarnAma invoking Goddess Mahalakshmi were a fitting conclusion for the Brindavana Dwadashi concert. :)
