My observation

Though audience were filled the hall by 18 30 hrs artistes arrived at 18 45 hrs. The platform was empty without any mike and other paraphernalia. One could feel the trauma of the Secretary since mike arrangement has failed. Secretary was going on answering each and every Rasikas doubt regarding the delay. Finally Two very young lads brought Tampuras first. Vidwan and vidwamsini took the dais immediately. The concert started at 19 0 5 hrs. The boy playing Tambura on his LHS followed TMK in rendering kritis.
No Mirudhangam. He started the concert and Kalyani was on. Then came the Mike. But he wanted Rasikas opinion whether sound system is necessary. He wanted all Rasikas to come closer so that all could hear with out sound system. During Begada krithi Vaa muruga , at 20 00 hrs Mirudhangam entered the hall. We have been under the impression that it is a percussion less concert. It was good timing , he looked at Sivakumar and welcomed him as Vaa Muruga to the concert. He wanted the door to be closed to avoid outside noise but the Samajam authorities did not allow sentimentally. With all these short comings the concert was very excellent. Begada was extremely good and violinist reply for niraval was praise worthy. She played Madhyamavathi in turn he sang Varali finally he summed up all the three. Thani avathanam with out mike was quite enjoyable. One should appreciate TMK's attitude without getting annoyed gave his best. Mirudhangist took apology for very late arrival stating he got held up at Koyambedu in traffic jam. IMO such things can't happen in any of the south Chennai Sabhas.
The concert came to an end at 21 15. A very nice concert in this series.

The 2 hrs concert [ the last one of this festival ] was excellent with good selection of songs in all languages. Sisters are disciples of BV Raman and Laxmanan and presently under Suguna Varadachari.
Secretary wanted sisters to take up Karakarapriya that was absent in the whole series before commencement of the concert which the Artistes willfully accepted and took it up as the main item. Anantha Padmanaban disciple of Kanyakumari ably supported vocalists. Sisters voice was fully aligned with each other and the concert was good. Poongulam disciple of Srimushnam done his duty perfectly well and Thani was excellent.
President Dr Parameswaran spoke for 2 mits at the end thanked all the office bearers and the secretary for their tireless work since two months in arranging the Chithirai Isai vizha that is being celebrated since 9 years.
Secretary Shri Srinivasan thanked all the artistes who made this vizha a grand success and especially Rasikas though in small numbers sat till the end all these days without budging. He thanked the president who is a practicing surgeon with all his tight schedule participated in every concert all these days.
Finally he mentioned and thanked Rasikas.org for its Reviews of chithirai Isai Vizha concerts.
Since Narasimha Jayanthi to day all were given Laddu packet and Panagam at the end. With this concert Chithirai Isai Vizha came to end this year.

The krithi that sisters sang must be Narasimmudu Udaya - KamalaManohari - Mysore Sadashiva Rao. I heard them sing once and I checked my notes

So nice while particularly Bangalore sabhas especially Nadasurabhi (Kssr and Harini) and Ranjani Fine arts come openly , in chennai partly Mudhra does it others surely read but they have not openly come out to thank rasikas.org . Thank you Srinivasan , i think you have a handle of Maruthidasan or something , let Hanuman give you more power and energy in future. The concert started at 18 45 hrs. The hall was half full. Good selection of songs selected from different composers. Mirudhangam a disciple of Kumbakonam Rajappa played his role perfectly and so the Morsing. Shri Krishnan is from a family full of percussion artistes and he accompanied Violin through out. Thani was good and crisp. Violin a disciple of Chandrasekaran closely followed the main artiste and reply to Pantuvarali was very pleasing. As regards to the main artiste a disciple of DKJ, OST and PSN. His voice is heavy. Occasional derailment noticed in Pantuvarali kriti. One thing I could not digest the referring of Note book for lyrics through out. Especially he was holding the script on his L H like reading News paper while rendering Kannada krithi was not in good taste. BTW he is the Asthana Vidwan of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam
Main artiste thanked PSS for arranging the concert over phone from Swiss by the Secretary who was on tour. In general a good concert on the whole.

VGS Krishnan . Morsing

Shri Krishnan is from a family full of percussion artistes and he accompanied Violin through out.

I am assuming Morsing artist is AS Krishnan , a seasoned and established artist. Apart from AS Krishnan(morsing), his other brothers are AS Murali(vocal) , AS ranganathan(mrudu angam) and AS Sankar(ghatam). His appa is A K Sundaram Iyer. There is another spectacular genius B S Sundarkumar, whose maternal uncle are the four mentioned brothers.

I have not heard Kolkata Shankar . He is a very senior disciple kind of early sishya of PSN. Thank you for your review.
