SWATI TIRUNAL SANGEETHOLSAVAM- AIR BROADCAST

All India Radio is organising Swati Tirunal Music concerts every year in all the important towns of Kerala for an invited audience and the same is relayed over all Kerala radio stations from 9.30 PM to 11.00PM on all the days- from20 April to 29th April. This will feature many prominent musicians from Kerala and will include exclusively ST kritis. Many rare kritis can be heard in these concerts. This can be heard in AIR Malayalam channel of AIR App.

Interestingly the first day, featured a Navarathri Mandapam concert of Semmangudi with TNK and Vellore Ramabhadran, from AIR archives. Tomorrow it will be a concert of KVN from the AIR archives. Schedule is given below.

Music lovers must thank AIR for introducing mobile app to listen to their regional Radio broadcasts. 'AIR ragam' channel which airs 24x7 music is really a boon for CM as well as HM lovers.
TV connections that support DTH enable better listening. But for this, a non Kerala resident may not be able to enjoy Swati tirunal fest.
Likewise we have Radio Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi etc.
And nobody has radio receiver sets nowadays with Medium Wave frequency and this problem is sorted out by the AIR app. FM except in Chennai relay only film music.

V R Dileepkumar (23.4.18 Monday) presented a brilliant 'Ramachandra paahi Satatam' with Alapanaa of Poornachandrika, swaraprastara etc.

( I have listened to KVN singing this at Navaratri Mandapam Trivandrum, so well).

This kriti is not commonly heard in the concert circuit. It can best fit in as the 2nd or 3rd item in a concert.

V R Dileepkumar (23.4.18 Monday) presented a brilliant 'Ramachandra paahi Satatam' with Alapanaa of Poornachandrika, swaraprastara etc.

VR DileepKumar and Sreevalsan Menon are two treasures from the land of KJ Yesudas. VR Dileepkumar usually goes on non standard and non prevelant numbers.

V.R Dileep KUmar presented a good concert yesterday. Other rare songs he rendered were Pahi Padmanabha in Bilahari as Main, Mamava Jagadeeswara- Saraswatimanohari, Jaya Jaya Devi in Yamunakalyani.

Yesterday, Kollam Balamurali presented a good concert. All familiar songs only. But presentation was gripping. A musician to be heard more.

Thanks for uploading the KVN concert. This appears to be a Navaratri Mandapam (Trivandrum) concert of yore.
The Taanam portion (after Arabhi alapana) seems to be edited out.

The concert has been uploaded in the Youtube by Mr. Navneet Krishnan .

The violin return and the thanam parts are missing after the Arabhi raga alapana in the concert broadcast by AIR.

However vintage concert of KVN and the thani by TK Murthy Sir is very great.

Yesterday there was the concert of senior vidushi Mathangi Satyamurthy. Though there were issues in voice on account of old age, the concert was good. She sang two very rare kritis- Gopalam Seveham in Bilahari and Dhyayami in Madhyavmavathy. The main was Karanam vina karyam in Kambodi- a kriti popular in Kerala but never heard in Chennai concert circles.

Yesterday Vamanan Namboodiri presented a very good concert with all rare kritis of Swati Tirunal.- Gopanandana, DEvamamayi (Kedaragowla), Reenamadanuta (Behag), Bhavadeeyakatha (Bhairavi) etc.
