The occasion was to commemorate D.K.Pattammal jayanthi and Gayathri Venkataraghavan presented a fitting tribute - a truly virtuoso concert covering a whole range of compositions and moods and lasting for close to 3 hours. After almost 2 hours into the concert, she started with the RTP, sang the alapana in 2 phases aong with tanam and trikalam.

It was announced that the entire team is embarking on a 1 month USA tour. If this concert is a sign of what is to come, it is going to be a very successful one. Bon Voyage to the artistes!
B.Sivaraman was having an off-day I suppose. Or may be it was some of the unusual talas. Hope the tour brings the best out of him.
