The Varnam was followed by Gananathaya Namasthe a Gowla Raga Krithi in Adi thalam composed by Ambi Dikshithar. Few brisk kalpanaswarams were sung. The sub main piece for the day was taken up next. Bhargav gave a short presentation on what he was planning to present in the Thani before starting of with actually playing the Thani. Bhargav exhibited a lot of confidence the way he was presenting the Thani. Ramani ji’s guidance and support on the Upapakkavadyam was evident in the concert. Bharghav did konakol for some part of his Thani which is the usual tradition in Sarvalaghu school. Thani ended with a power packed mohra and korvai which was very well applauded by the audience.
RTP for the concert was choosen in Malayamarutham ragam. Short alapana was followed by the thanam. It was very well supported by Bharathi ji on the violin. Thillana in Hameerkalyani composed by Muthiah Bhagavathar was presented before the Mangalam. The chief guest for the day, Dr M Chandrasekharan mentioned that Bhargav played for the music and not just beat for the music. The invaluable training and encouragement provided by Shri Ramesh Srinivasan was exuded by Bhargav's performance on that day. It was a very enjoyable concert.
