Mani Krishnaswamy Academy, Mangalore is doing a commendable service by hosting two fb concerts daily by upcoming vidwans. All one hour concerts without pakkavadyams.
Just now heard an amazing concert of Aditya Madhavan. He is disciple of Radha Namboodiri of Mumbai and now learning from Sanjay Subramaniam. IIRC, he is the title winner of Mudhra Cutchery Competition. He is got an excellent voice, very powerful that can negotiate the three shayis with absolute ease, good manodharmam, good padantharam. The songs in this concert are
• Slokam from Dayasatakam.
• Varnam- Nata- BMK
• Dandayuthapanim- Anandabhairavi- (R,S)
• Vazhi maraithirukkude- Natakurinji- (R,N)
• Virutham- Ragamalika- Manaada, mazhuvaada
• Seesa Ganga- Dhanasree. ST
I heard him in Mudhra during the last two season and he impressed me a lot. The alapanas of Anandabhairavi and Natakurinji and the viruthams were highly imaginative. Dandayuthapanim is a very rare kriti of Deekshitar. The swaras had very innovative designs, and the neraval also was rich in manodharmam. The link to the concert is given below.
